Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy

Effective date: August 5, 2026 · Last updated: August 5, 2026

Plan details below are read from the same pricing configuration used by the plans page, so the two can never disagree.

Billing is not active yet

No payment processor, checkout, or card handling exists in the application today. Prices are preview figures for market testing, and no one can be charged. Intended processor when billing launches: Paddle (selected, not yet integrated).

Automatic renewal and when you are charged

Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The Semester Pass is a single upfront payment for five consecutive months and does not renew automatically. The Free plan is never charged.

When billing launches, the first charge occurs at checkout and later charges occur on the same calendar day of each renewal period. Renewal terms, the price, and how to cancel will be displayed on the checkout screen before payment, with no preselected consent checkboxes and no misleading buttons.

How to cancel

Once billing is live, you will be able to cancel from the "Manage subscription" control in your account area at any time, without contacting support. Until billing is active that control shows the current status instead of a processor portal. You can also write to [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED] — support email to cancel.

What happens after cancellation

Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for, and then the account moves to the Free plan. Your assignment setups, rubrics, and preferences remain available on the Free plan subject to its limits. Cancelling does not delete your account — use the data request page to delete it.

Upgrades and downgrades

  • Upgrading takes effect immediately and the new plan's allowances apply right away.
  • Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current paid period, so you keep what you paid for.
  • Proration handling for mid-period changes: [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED] — confirm once the processor is connected.

Usage limits and overages

Each plan includes a stated number of AI-reviewed papers and saved assignments. There is no automatic overage charge: if you reach a limit, drafting pauses until the next period or until you upgrade. [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED] — confirm whether any paid overage option will be offered.

Failed payments

If a charge fails, the processor will retry according to its standard schedule and you will receive a notice. If payment is not completed, the subscription lapses to the Free plan rather than accruing a balance. Exact retry schedule: [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED].

Taxes

Prices are shown exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise. Applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST is calculated and collected at checkout by the payment processor based on your billing location and appears on your receipt.

Trials and promotions

The Free plan serves as the trial: no card, no expiration, and no automatic conversion to a paid plan. Any future promotional trial will state its length and what happens when it ends before you accept it.

Refunds

[OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED: SELECT REFUND POLICY] The final refund terms have not been set, so this policy does not promise refunds and does not state that sales are non-refundable. Statutory refund and withdrawal rights that apply to you are unaffected.

To request a refund once billing is live, write to [OWNER REVIEW REQUIRED] — support email with your account email and the charge date. Requests are reviewed individually until a published policy is in place.

Payment processor

No processor is connected today. When one is, this section will name it, and card details will be handled by that processor rather than by GradeLikeMe. Intended processor: Paddle (selected, not yet integrated).
